Darlings,
I do not, as a rule, make political statements … I believe that anyone who feels a certain way about a particular subject is entitled to their own opinions. But every once in a while, we come across something so utterly inane that it requires attention, if not direct comment.
Today I came across an article that left me sputtering in my coffee … Apparently, the next time you order a Big Mac meal, you are helping those evil, morally reprehensible people known as “Gays” … (gasp, shock, horror). Yes I know … it’s horrifying to think that what you thought was a seemingly innocent burger and fries is now a political statement but, according to our friends at the American Family Association (yes those lovely people who forced Heinz to pull their commercial showing 2 men kissing! … Apparently ketchup will make your children gay) McDonald’s is now promoting the homosexuality of your children by giving a corporate sponsorship to Washington-based National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
Stories like this … I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, honestly … but you can read the full story here. And please, remember to order your Ketchup free burgers only from APPROVED fast food organizations. Otherwise, you might wind up going to hell …
Ta for now

Interesting article; I’m a man, and don’t fully know why there is such a push to recognize gay men; I really don’t get it; you said you respect all opinions so, I’m hoping mine will be respected as well.
Homosexuality is a choice; These people made the decision to date people of the same sex - it’s not like being Born Black or being Born a Man or a Woman (which it so often is compared to) - So i don’t get why there is such a Push to put their choice in our face.
Is there a National Chamber of Foot Fetishists?
People “like me” Choose to indulge in our love for women’s feet - I’m not being oppressed; it’s often looked down upon, as weird, odd or strange, but it’s not stopping me - or others, from sucking womens’ toes - rubbing their feet - and so on.
And gays have never been oppressed, or kept from being gay; Far as I know, homosexuality has been practiced since the Roman empire, and long before that.
What do they need sponsorship for?
No one is stopping them from indulging in homosexuality; Men who want to screw other men in the ass have been doing so since Sodom and Gamorah;
What about people whow LOVE Porn! Do they get a National Chamber of Commerce too? They chose to indulge in the joy of watching men screw women .. and sometimes even, women screwing other women ,and yes, even men screwing men; Do porn lovers get Sponsorship?
I hope you’re getting what I’m saying here - If a man wants to be gay, that’s his right.
But I’m so sick of it being thrown in my face every day; Im so sick of it being compared to ‘civil rights’ - that sprang from the mistreatment of Blacks, and Women; not because they CHOSE To be different; … but because they were truly born that way.
Homosexuality, is a Fetish; Like anything else; Was I Born with a foot fetish? or did it develop over time? did I make the decision to go full head on into it? Could I have resisted my urges to suck women’s toes….? YES;
It’s well documented also, that many men who have homosexual urges, have resisted those urges, married women, had kids - so … it’s a choice to live that way.
Why make a big deal out of how you’re treated, when you choose to live a certain way of life?
You’re a Phone Sex “mistress” - that was a choice - is there a Chamber of Commerce for you?
When people make fun of you, for getting guys off on the phone, do you scream or cry oppression! … No, you accept it as part of the teritory; When people make fun of me for having a foot fetish; I accept it as part of ‘how things are’ …
you’ve gotta great blog here; while i don’t really agree with your opinion; I do respect it; and love talking with people like you about this sort of thing; because I dont think the other side of the coin gets presented nearly enough - or, when it does, it’s presented with overtones of hate.
I don’t hate gays - but I am not a big fan of the ’special treatment’ policies that seem to be springing up; Gays get more attention for their issues, than blacks - who for the most part are Suffering from the after effects of what the USA put them through; Poverty levels are high, Education sucks and those two issues are combining to lead many blacks into lives of crime, and imprisonment;
And gay people want to cry because people make fun of them? …
when are people gonna start caring about REAL issues?
that’s my take.

one more thing… McDonalds, and the other Corporations who do this, are doing it for one reason; Money.
The Gays are doing Pretty well financially in this country; they’ve got Money; and THEY eat Food too; So, from a business standpoint - seeing how business operates in 2008 - of course they’re gonna join and show support to gays.
The Customer afterall, is always right.
Christians on the other hand, are not in support of homosexuality; so, Naturally they’re going to boycott those who endorse that kind of lifestyle.
Personally; I dont eat McD’s… I prefer Carls Jr, or Jack in the Box … or any Hole in the Wall restuarant; you get more for your buck.
p.s. let’s do a link exchange
let me know if you’d be interested; take care!

Thanks for the comment … Some of the points you bring up, I whole heartedly agree with … and some I do not.
The first point that I disagree with, rather vehemently, is whether or not gays are “born”. I do believe, from my own experiences, that people are born one way or the other … I do believe that one can be born gay just as much as one can be born a black man or a white woman. Whether or not you are allowed to truly BE who you are born remains another story entirely. Gays, lesbians, transgendered folk are discriminated against in ways that most “straight” folk can’t comprehend. Even I, because of how I choose to live my life as a Dominatrix, am discriminated against.
In the same breath, I also don’t agree that people with a fetish, whether that fetish be for shoes, feet or latex dresses, have a “choice” as to what turns them on. They do, however, have the choice to ACT on that desire … much as I believe homosexuals do. You can choose to live a lie or to be who you are on the inside … Soddom and Gomorrah be damned.
However, this is not what disgusted me about the article.
You mention whether this group requires sponsorship, or any other specialised group. I agree … I don’t necessarily believe that there should be a specialised Chamber of Commerce specific to a group of people … at that point, you are as bad as those who discriminate against you. Again, however, this is not what upset me about the article.
What really stuck, for me, was not the publicity that gays get (I’ll be the first person to tell you that there are more than enough people out there who will play the “Gay” card just to garner sympathy than you can wiggle a toe at … but the same can be said for any non-majority group in the US). Nor was it the proverbial Christian Hammer coming down on yet another of their “beliefs”.
In all honesty, what caught in my throat was the fact that these people truly believe that McDonald’s is a sentient “being” who made the choice to donate to the gay crusade. It’s a corporation … I’m sure if you look deep enough into all corporate sponsorships, you’ll find a few that would have the Gay Chamber of Commerce screaming like ninnies. (My apologies to all “ninnies” who may be reading my blog).
Corporate sponsorship is something that is done with damn near anonymous signatures these days … It’s a marketing tool, used to drum up business … much like product placement in a particular movie. Bringing your family to any restaurant is a a nutritional choice and shouldn’t be influenced by your church OR your cousin’s sexuality.
Thank you … I truly hadn’t expected to have someone make a comment such as yours but I’m glad you did.

I guess the whole ‘born’ thing is up to debate; I do appreciate your response however, and whole heartedly agree with what you said about Corporations; I’ll email you tomorrow

Hey wait a minute, Miles. I could walk half a
mile to the gay bar up the road from me and
end up getting a blow job by the end of the
night. That would be awesome, right? Except
that I’m straight. It’s not a choice I made. It’s
the way I am. I was born this way.
Could you choose to date men if you wanted to?
Could you really be into it and really be turned
on by a man? If not, how can you expect gay
men to be able to choose to date women?

That’s a good question Mitch; and I think for me, the answer is Not really; Not because I couldn’t, but at this point in my life I have hard wired myself to be against even considering something like that.
Not that I haven’t ever been approached by gay men, offering blow jobs and what not; and when I was younger, I gave it some thought once or twice.
I thought to myself, “no one will know” - then the next thought came “but I would know.”
And maybe that is what leads me to feel that it is a choice. I could have chosen to let a man jerk me off, suck me off, or whatever; Would I be into it? If I made the choice to try it out, then yea, I could be - but I wouldn’t make that choice because of how I was raised.
I had men in my life; who made fun of guys who didn’t act manly; who poked fun at gay people on tv; Like all of us, we get one form of conditioning at home or another; and part of my conditioning, was that men don’t do that gay stuff.
So, when I really think about it, had it not been for that kind of ‘conditioning’ I would possibly feel very different about homosexuality now.
I think in large part - that sums us all up - it all comes down to how we were raised by our parents; Whether we are racist, sexist, smart, dumb, interesting, well rounded, or dull; I think parenting shapes us.
And I think when we’re all young, most of us seek approval of our parents; we try to please them; as we grow older, some of us rebel, and some of us continue to try to make them happy;
I think when we’re young, our parents encourage some ideas, and discourage others; some parents do this intentionally, and others do it unintentionally; Life is like Math - there are So many variables involved; each of us turns out the way we do, due to the choices we make and the influences around us as we grow, learn, and experience life.
And this is where I feel many gay men find themselves; They are the result of influences; often, female influences; often raised by single mothers who don’t teach their sons about masculine ways; perhaps unintentionally molding a man, into a feminine man; Perhaps because they don’t discourage ‘acting girly’ - perhaps because they see nothing wrong with homosexuality; perhaps it all adds up, and allows that man, to be more ok with making the decision to let a man suck his cock;
He may not have the mental blockers built in - like I would - or You would Mitch … nothing to stop him from going there; where as you and me do.
I must ask Mitch; how do your parents feel about homosexuality, and do you think it’s had any influence on you?
